Obituary

Ralph Moebus 69, of Washington, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at Carle Methodist Hospital of Peoria.

He was born on December 13,1954 in Dusseldorf West Germany to the late Alejandro and Elisabeth (Klosser) Moebus.  He married Bernadette Solecki on November 7, 1980 in Palos Hills, Illinois and enjoyed 43 years of marriage with her.

Surviving are his wife, Bernadette Moebus; his children, William J.(Angela) Moebus, Natalie B.(Timothy) Rydecki, and Matthew D. Moebus; his grandchildren, Kenneth J.and Joseph K. Moebus; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Alexander Moebus.

Ralph was an Industrial Engineer receiving his degree from Purdue University, Indiana. He worked for Peoria County and established the first Recycling Program and various other engineering positions in local industry.

Ralph was a member of St. Joseph Church in Peoria, Illinois. He was a devout Traditional Catholic, with a special devotion to Saint Michael. He loved spending time with his family. In his spare time, he would enjoy walking, watching movies and finding antiques. Ralph was very proud of his Spanish and German heritage, he spoke three languages. His father was born in Barcelona, Spain. One of his favorite things to do was to take a walk by the ocean.

A visitation will be held from 3:00-5:30 pm Friday, August 9, 2024 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, Illinois with a rosary at 5:30pm. A Latin Requiem Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Queen of the Holy Rosary Shrine - 529 4th St. in LaSalle, Illinois  61301. A graveside service will follow the Mass at St. John's Catholic Cemetery- 601 West Jackson Street, Cullom, Illinois 60929.
