Obituary Phyllis Williams, 83, of East Peoria, passed away at 4:19pm, Saturday September 3, 2016 at UnityPoint Methodist Health in Peoria. Phyllis was born July 24, 1933 in Little Mackinaw Township, IL to Claude and Opal Dalton Crossman. She married Dean Williams on December 20, 1952 in Iuka, IL. He preceded her in death on May 10, 2010. Surviving are their children, Deana (Bob) Kail of Millbrook, IL, Diane (Dennis) Quitschau of Peoria Heights, Linda Williams (Jamey Hensley) of Canton, and Lori (Jackson) Vaughn of Batesville, AR; her siblings, Marcia Crippen of East Peoria and Doug Crossman of Bloomington; brother-in-law, Gary Williams of Kell, IL; 11 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 4 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 3 brothers, Bill, Dick, and Dean Crossman; and an infant sister, Janet Kay Crossman. Phyllis graduated from Salem Community High School in 1951 with her future husband. She put her caring and nurturing spirit to use by providing a babysitting service in her home and through her work at PARC. She retired from PARC in 1990 after 15 years of loving service. She enjoyed crafting, sewing, and loved to work in her flower beds. She enjoyed watching the Cubs, Bulls, Bears, and Blackhawks play. She was a welcoming and caring person and her door was always open to anyone who needed a warm, loving place to be. All of her favorite people call her "Nana". Her family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at UnityPoint Methodist, especially those on 7 Crescent, 7 Hamilton, as well as the Palliative Care and Hospice Teams. A Celebration of Phyllis' life will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be from 11:00am-1:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Deer Creek. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, Northern Tazewell Rescue Squad or a charity of the donor's choice. Cemetery Details Mt.
