Obituary Phyllis Irene Smith, 75, of Eureka, passed away at 3:25am, Saturday September 27, 2014 at Maple Lawn Health Center in Eureka. Phyllis was born September 22, 1939 in Peoria to Charles and Alice Fox Burroughs. She married Edmond L. Smith on December 10, 1955 in St. Louis, MO; he preceded her in death in 1995. Surviving are her children, Michael (Sarah) Smith of Congerville, Vickie (Curtis) Pinneo of Peoria, Darryl (Dorothy) Smith of Washington, Timmothy Smith of Eureka, Charles Smith of Metamora, Kenneth (Dee) Smith of Eureka, and Christopher (Carmen) Smith of Germantown Hills; 30 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 11 step-greatgrandchildren; 1 step-great-great-grandchild; sister, Helen (Ray) Gullette of Rockford; and brother, Ronnie Roy Burroughs of Kansas . She was also preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Colton Smith; and daughter in law, Jackie Smith. Phyllis worked for the Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka for 35 years. She loved her family, and especially enjoyed all 77 of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing bingo with family and friends, bird watching, and working puzzles. She was of the Christian faith. A graveside service for Phyllis will be held at 1:30pm, Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka. There will be visitation from noon-1:00pm Wednesday, at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Pastor Jim Gorby will officiate. Cemetery Details Olio Township Cemetery 1015 S.
