Phyllis "Jean" Picton, 94, of Peoria, died at 3:30 am on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at OSF St. Francis.

She was born on August 15, 1928 to the late Wilfred Story and Jessie J. Haslet Peters. She married John T. Picton, Sr. on January 10, 1948 in Peoria.

Surviving are her 2 children; John T. (Nancy) Picton, Jr. and Debra (Tom) Schneider; 6 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband, John, Sr. in February of 2008; and by her daughter, Ellen Robertson in March of 2008.

Jean lived a long and happy life with her family and friends. She enjoyed shopping and was always looking for a great deal. She loved jewelry, whether it was making her own or finding the perfect piece to compliment her outfit.

The family will receive guests  from 12 to 1:30pm Friday, June 16, 2023 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Inurnment will follow at Resurrection Mausoleum in Peoria.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made out to the Lutheran Hillside Village Foundation.
