Obituary
Washington - Phillip A. "Phil" Alder, 71, of Washington, died at 4:33 PM on Friday October 11, 2013 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. He was born February 25, 1942 in Peoria to Edward and Hazel Ade Alder. He married Jeanette McReynolds on June 6, 1969 in Peoria. She preceded him in death on December 20, 2012 in Washington. He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Phil and Jeanette had one child together, his daughter Tonya (Tim) Smith of McHenry, MS. He is also survived by two daughters from a previous marriage; Mischelle (Robert "Buddy") Holley of Columbia, MO and Kristina Alder of Texas, two step-children; Pamela (Mark) Reinhold of Washington and Donnie (Monique) Schlipf of Washington, one sister Elaine of Peoria, ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Phil served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He later worked nearly 35 years as a Diesel Mechanic for CAT Altorfer, Inc. in East Peoria, retiring in 2001. He was a member of Glad Tidings Assembly of God in East Peoria and was also a member of the American Legion Post #100 in Washington. He enjoyed passing time listening to old time country music, fishing and collecting guns.
There will be a funeral service for Phil at 11 AM on Tuesday October 15, 2013 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God in East Peoria. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Fred Doughty will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is handling arrangements.
