Peggy Martin, 78, of Washington, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born April 26, 1944 in Evansville, IN to Eathen Marvin and Sylvia Lucille Dike Smith.  She married Billie Ray Martin in Owensville, IN on June 10, 1961.  He preceded her in death on September 21, 2002.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sandra Kay Young, and infant sister, Joyce Ann Smith.

Surviving are her daughter, Shiela (Michael) Whitford; two sons, Jeff Martin, Steve (Kim) Martin; seven grandchildren, Keri (Tom) Harvey, Aaron Whitford, Megan (Ethan) Presley, Kolby (Jenna) Martin, Tabitha Martin, Alex (Kayley) Martin, Alyssa Martin; three great-grandchildren, Kennedy Harvey, Eleanora and Miles Presley; two sisters, Jeannie (Jim) Tomey, Cynthia Lou Barriball; three brothers, Gary (Bertha) Smith, Jerry (Kathy) Smith, Dickie (Ann) Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

Peggy worked at Hiram Walker from 1968 - 1981.  She then worked as a tax preparer and bookkeeper at Mohrs Tax Service, her own Peggy Martin Tax Service, and Cobbs Industrial Grinding.  She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family.  She will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from Noon to 2pm Monday, April 3rd at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, followed by her funeral service at 2pm.  Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
