Payne W. Hudspeth, 77, of East Peoria, passed away at 1:25am Monday, November 7, 2022 at his home.

He was born September 28, 1945 in Chicago to the late Payne W. and June E. Kamin Hudspeth. He married Teresa Whitman Estes in 1991.

Surviving are his wife, Teresa of East Peoria; son, Michael Payne (Melissa) Hudspeth; step-sons, James and Christopher Estes; grandchildren, Marissa, Arcina, Erin, and Emma Hudspeth; step-grandchildren, Andrea and Michael Estes; great-grandson Noah Bishop; and his siblings, Cress (Peggy) Hudspeth, Andrea Nelson, and Dwain Hudspeth.

Payne served his country with the US Army during Vietnam. He went on to work for CDI Corp and later Caterpillar, retiring after many years there as an engineer. He enjoyed fishing, even ice fishing, and took many camping trips. He also officiated high school football and baseball for many years.

Inurnment will be at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
