Obituary WASHINGTON- Paul Brian Gess, 65, of Washington, passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 3:00PM at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. Paul was born October 27, 1949 in Chicago, IL to Reverand Clarence and Eleanor Wiederanders Gess. He married Mardee Pacey on July 14, 1973 in Benson, IL. She survives. Also surviving are his children, Julie (John) Sabin of Hawaii and Rob (Melissa) Gess of Washington, IL; six grandchildren; and one sister, Marian (Dr. John) DeGiovanni of Wisconsin. He was preceded in death by his parents. Paul graduated from Roanoke-Benson High School in 1967. He worked at Caterpillar in logistics for many years, retiring in October 2002. He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Morton. Paul enjoyed watching Chicago Cubs baseball, hockey and going fishing. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. A memorial service for Paul will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11:00AM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Dan Hoehne will officiate.
