Paul A. Courtright, Sr., 82, of Washington, formerly of Mackinaw, passed away at 2:17pm Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Apostolic Christian Home of Roanoke after a 20 year battle with Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia.
He was born January 3, 1939 in Pekin to the late Edgar and Emma Courtright. He married Marcia (Bequeaith) Aberle on December 3, 1994 in Mackinaw.
Surviving is his wife, Marcia of Washington; his children, Monica Paulsell of Pekin, Julie Courtright of Pekin, Paul Courtright, Jr. of Farmington, MO; step-children Scott (Robin) Noel of Wheatridge, CO and Nathan (Makayla) Aberle of Washougal, WA; grandchildren, Amy Landry, Jessica Courtright, Richard Paulsell and Ross Bradshaw; step-grandchildren, Zoey, Arion, and Alena Aberle; 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-granddaughter.
He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Leroy and Delbert Courtight and Velma Gilroy.
Paul served as an Engineer for the Pekin Fire Department for 22 years, his last call with the department being April 25, 1992. Prior to his fire service, he worked at Keystone and Allied Mills. He loved to travel, whether it was heading west to go whitewater rafting, going north to fish with one of the many lures he loved to make, or just taking one of his Jeeps out.
A funeral service for Paul will be held at 11:00am Friday, November 12, 2021 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Visitation will be from 9:30am-11:00am of Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
