Patrick L. Merchant, 34, of Washington, passed away at 9:06pm Thursday, December 26, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born July 29, 1990 in Farmington, ME to Rick and Joyce Melton Merchant.

He is survived by his mother, Joyce York (Edward Wolfe) of Jay, OK; his son, Tristan Ryan Leon Merchant and his girlfriend, Krissy Crawford, both of Washington; 8 aunts, 6 uncles, and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father; an infant daughter, Annabelle Elizabeth Marie Crawford; grandparents, Jim & Joyce Melton and Clyde & Caroline Merchant; and aunts and uncles, Connie, Sharon, Jimmy, and Chester Melton.

Patrick had been a Washington resident since 2011. He worked last at Alliance Wheel in Washington. He enjoyed playing softball and soccer. He loved spending time with friends and family, especially fishing with Krissy and Tristan. Music was his passion and he enjoyed it deeply.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Evangelical United Methodist Church in Washington; Pastor Tom Goodell will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded.
