Obituary Patrick M. Hearne, 81, of East Peoria, IL died at 1:24 am Saturday, August 7, 2010 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Born on October 9, 1928 in Maryville, IL to Joseph (Tim) and Christine M. Slemmer Hearne, he married Mary Elizabeth Wagoner on July 3, 1953 in Maryville, IL. She preceded him in death on December 3, 2008 in East Peoria, IL. Surviving are 4 children, Jane (Eugene) Roehl of Troy, IL, Tim (Christine) Hearne of Washington, IL, Leta (Roger L.) Williams of Peoria, IL, and Christie (Randy) Heinz of Bellevue, IL, 6 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. Pat was a Construction Electrician for the IBEW Union for many years. He also helped his family run the Bread & Butter Caf in Peoria and then in Spring Bay. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of East Peoria, where he was active with the church choir and attended the Methodist Men's Fellowship. Pat also was a member of the Frank L. Nichols Masonic Lodge #1170 in Creve Coeur. He served as Past Commander of the VFW Post #2078 in East Peoria, and was currently a member of the VFW Post #5921 in Morton. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sail boating. Masonic Rites will begin at 1 pm Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at First United Methodist Church of East Peoria, followed by the funeral service. Pastor Mary Arnold will officiate the funeral. Visitation will begin at 11:30 am Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Springdale Cemetery in Peoria, where military rites will be accorded by the US Army and the Tazewell Military Rites Team. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to his church or to Wildlife Prairie Park.
