Patricia G. "Pat" Schmitt, 79, of East Peoria, passed away at 5:45pm Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at her home.

Pat was born July 25, 1942 in Clinton, IN to the late George and Sarah Malone Reed. She married John W. Schmitt on June 12, 1965 in East Peoria; he preceded her in death on March 28, 2012.

Surviving is daughter Lisa (Tyler) Salisbury of Normal; her grandchildren, Jessica (Mike) Kelly of Metamora, Ashley (Justin) Taylor of East Peoria, and Michael Scheffert of Pontiac; and great-grandchildren, Lilly, Myles, Madilynn, Mikey, Jr., and Gracie.

She was also recently preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law Chris and Doug Brooks.

Pat graduated from Oehrlein School of Cosmetology and worked as hairdresser for a time. She loved volunteering for the Children's Home and for Tazewell Woodford Headstart. She was an avid reader, enjoyed garage sales or thrift stores, loved spotting cardinals in her yard or in one of her many birdhouses. Sundays were for watching golf on TV and the late afternoons were for watching (and winning) Jeopardy. Most important to her was her family, especially her grandbabies; she loved each of them dearly.

Pat's family will receive friends from 5-7:00pm Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.
