Obituary WASHINGTON-Patricia A. "Pat" Reed, 75, of Washington, Illinois died at 1:34 am Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, Illinois. Born on July 24, 1936 in Peoria to James E. and Sophie Marie Lawrence Hendrickson, she married Robert B. Reed on June 27, 1954 in Peoria. He survives. Also surviving are 1 daughter, Vickie (Bob) Parrott of Washington; 1 son, Robert J. Reed of Mackinaw; 1 brother, James L. (Terry) Hendrickson of Peoria; 1 sister, Helen M. (Jim) Sumrall of Biloxi, MS; 6 grandchildren, Brian (Cherie) Parrott, Brett (Lisa) Parrott, Brandon (Erin) Parrott, Kristi (Jason) Polin, Michal Reed, and Melissa Reed, and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Pat was a founding member of Highview Church of God in Washington where she served as secretary and was active in the women's ministry. She enjoyed singing in the choir and also served in the Sunday school as a teacher for many years. Pat was a devoted grandmother and also had a special gift for ministering to others through her cards. Pat had numerous secretarial jobs in Peoria over the years. She last worked as a bus monitor for District 52 in Washington, until 2002. Pat's family would like to thank all of the staff at Proctor Hospital for the care they gave and the concern they showed to Pat this last week. Funeral services will be at 10 am Saturday, December 17, 2011 at Highview Church of God in Washington. Pastor Richard Fitzwater will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Friday, December 16, 2011 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and 1 hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Swan Lake Memory Garden in Peoria.
