Obituary
Patience Delight Taber, 33, of Washington, IL, died at 2:45 pm Saturday, January 26, 2013 at her home.
She was born on December 17, 1979 in Rock Island, IL to Theodore Douglas and Mercy Ann Hamilton Taber. Her parents survive in Washington, IL.
Also surviving are her sister, Hope (Jesse) Placher of Washington, IL, grandmother, Naoma Taber of Rock Island, IL, her aunts and uncles, Rudolph (Sini) Taber of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ronald (Nancy) Taber of Rock Island, IL, Thomas (Cindy) Taber of New York, Eric Taber of Phoenix, AZ, Jackie Taber of Rock Island, IL, and Cindy Coy of Winter Green, VA and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her uncle, Jeff Taber, and grandparents, Rudolph and Gladys Taber and Mildred Hamilton.
Patience was a 1998 graduate of Washington Community High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from OSF St. Francis College of Nursing in Peoria and her Master's Degree from the Illinois State Mennonite School of Nursing in Bloomington, IL, where she graduated with honors and became a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She was currently working at the Millennium Pain Center in Bloomington, and had previously worked as a Nurse at OSF Sr. Francis Medical Center in Peoria and Apostolic Christian home for the Handicapped - Group Homes in Morton, IL.
She was a devoted member of Northminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria where she taught Sunday school, served on the Missions Team, the church knitting ministry making prayer shawls, and participated in the Peoria Great Banquet Community. Patience was also a former Young Life volunteer. She enjoyed cooking for others, gardening, reading, and writing. She had a special gift of communicating, and keeping in touch with others. What she loved most was her God and her family.
Services for Patience will be at 11 am Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Northminster Presbyterian Church. Rev. Joel Vander Wal will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Cremation rites will be accorded and a burial at Hillcrest Memory Gardens will follow the church service on Thursday.
