Obituary
Orvil Lee Davis, Sr., 90, of Creve Coeur, passed away at 11:30pm, Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Fondulac Rehabilitation and Health Care in East Peoria.
Orvil was born February 20, 1924 in Mt. Sterling to Francis and Opal Hoosier Davis. He married Norma Jean Washburn April 18, 1959 in Peoria. She preceded him in death in 2011.
Surviving are 3 sons, Edgar (Teresa) Davis of Pekin, IL, Orvil Lee (Michelle) Davis, Jr. of Oregon, and Archie Davis of Pekin, IL; daughter, Diane (Larry) Siebenthal of Creve Coeur, IL; 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, a son, Randall Davis, and a sister, Ruby Briscoe.
Orvil retired in 1984 after 20 years as a material handler at Caterpillar Tractor Co. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and wintering in Florida with his wife for many years. He was a member of Creve Coeur Christian Church.
A memorial service for Orvil will be held at 6:00pm, Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at Creve Coeur Christian Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor John Plunkett will officiate and Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Creve Coeur Christian Church.
