Obituary Opal D. Marshall, 83, of East Peoria, IL, died at 6:20 pm Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at her home. Born on March 8, 1930 in Benson, IL to George and Phoebe "Bena" Theirer Uphoff, she married William "Bill" Marshall on November 1, 1953 in Benson, IL. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2008 in East Peoria, IL. She was also preceded in death by 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Surviving are 4 children, Ron Marshall of East Peoria, IL, Debra (Mike) Son of Carthage, IL, Janet (Norm) Harlan and Lisa (Chuck) Friend, both of East Peoria, IL, 1 brother, Everett (Bonnie) Uphoff of Heber Springs, AR, 8 grandchildren, Jeremy Marshall, David Son, James Son, Rachel Son, Leah Harlan, Bethany Harlan, Christina Schroeter, and Shena Friend, and 8 great- grandchildren. She worked at Hershel Manufacturing in Peoria, Robein Grade School in East Peoria as a lunch room supervisor and in the Cafeteria at Washington Community High School. She later worked as the Office Manager at Olan Mills Portrait Studio in East Peoria. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Washington and was a devoted mother and grandmother.
