Norma "Gean" Gaul, 83, of Washington, died at 7:55 am on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 in her home.

She was born April 13, 1940 to the late Amelia A. Hursa and Norman G. Schultz in Sault Ste Marie, MI. She married Peter Cummings Gaul in Monmouth, IL in 1963.

She is preceded in death by her brother Gary Johnson.

She is survived by her son, Robert (R.E.) Gaul of Washington; her granddaughter, Jessica Gaul of Washington; her brother, Alan Johnson of Colorado Springs, CO; and her sister, Sandra Young of Newton, NC.

Gean was a longtime member of St. Monica's Catholic Church in East Peoria. She loved tending to her garden and flowers. Most important to her, was her family and spending time with them.

Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. Cremation has been accorded.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research in memory of Gean.
