Norma Jene Benedict (Jason), 86, of Washington, passed away peacefully at 12:49pm Friday, October 28, 2022, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born June 29, 1936, in Tazewell County, Illinois.  She was adopted by Tom and Marguerite Trovillion in 1942, and later had an adopted brother, Richard.

She married the love of her life, Gerald "Jerry" Benedict on December 3, 1954.  He preceded her in death on October 29, 1977.  She later married Dale R. Jason on December 24, 1986.  He preceded her in death on October 19, 2005.  She was also preceded in death by her adoptive parents; brother, Richard; son, Lee; and grandson, Jared.

She is survived by three children, Ellen (Mike) Clementz, Ron (Pam) Benedict, Susan Benedict (Tom Stock); six grandchildren, Chris (Jenny) Clementz, Matt (Amanda) Clementz, Justin Twedell, Lori Twedell, Erik Kammerer, Joshua Jerimiah; and six great-grandchildren, Shelby, Henry, Gavin, Addison, Hayden and Gabby.

Next to God and Jesus, her family was her life.  She was a lifelong member of Sunnyland Christian Church.  She worked for Blackburns Laundry, Palanza's Family Dining, Courtesy/Starcrest Cleaners, and the Law Office of Spencer Lee Daniels.

Norma's funeral service will be at 11am Friday, November 4, 2022, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.  Visitation will be one hour before the service on Friday from 10 to 11am at the funeral home.  Interment will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Sunnyland Christian Church, St. Patrick Catholic Church Grade School, or Northern Tazewell Rescue Squad.
