Norma June Adami, 82, of Germantown Hills, formerly of Cypress and Goreville, passed away at 2:40am Monday, December 27, 2021 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria.

Norma was born July 20, 1939 to the late Rev. Raymond C. and Mary C. Schierbaum McHugh. She married Russel L. Adami on March 24, 1962; he preceded her in death on April 9, 1990.

Surviving are her children, Scott (Jo) Adami of Goreville and Jennifer (Ronald) McHenry of Germantown Hills; grandchildren, Nathaniel (Carol Anne) Adami, Nicole Reason, Kelsey Thompson, Kaitlyn Reason, Timothy (Amanda) Adami, and Alexis McHenry; great-grandchildren, Ryot, Remy, Kenny, Kylie, Natalie, and Sophie; and her best friend of many years, Nancy Eckhoff.

She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather Adami and a brother, Daniel McHugh.

Norma was the office manager at Kemp Manufacturing in Peoria Heights for many years and also served as the postmaster of Goreville. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, leaving a legacy of love with each of them. She had a sweet, abiding faith and a kind disposition. Some of the best memories of Norma intertwined with memories of Christmas Eve gatherings, the family home of S. Maple Ln, or simply hearing a wind chimes ring.

A private family gathering will be held and cremation rites have been accorded by Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.
