Obituary East Peoria- Nila M. Petermann, 82, of Johnson City, TN, formerly of East Peoria, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Lakebridge Healthcare Center in Johnson City, TN. Nila was born in Erwin, Tennessee on November 30, 1930 to Henry & Katherine Hensley Banner. In addition to her parents Mrs. Petermann was also preceded in death by two sisters, and a son-in-law, Mark Sheets. She married Robert S. Petermann February 19, 1955 and had six children. Survivors include her husband of 58 years having just celebrated their wedding anniversary, Robert Starr Petermann, of Johnson City, TN; children, Sabrina Baumann (William), Toms River, New Jersey, Contessa Bowers, Cape Coral, Florida, Robert Petermann, Jr. (Camille), Springfield, Illinois, Durwin Petermann, Tacoma, Washington, Valerie McClary (Joel), Morton, Illinois and Gyneen Tangel (Neil), Telford, Tennessee; fifteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; siblings, Roger Banner (Gail), Idaho, Perry Banner (Ruth), TN, Jerry Banner (Yvonne), TN, Marvin Banner (Linda), TN, and Wilbur Banner (Sue), TN, as well as many nieces and nephews. Nila lived in East Peoria for over forty years raising her family, prior to moving to Johnson City, TN in 2010 with her husband Robert. She retired from Peoria Production Shop October 2005 after 25 years of dedicated service as a commercial seamstress. Nila was a loving mother and wife who spent her whole life caring for her family. She was creative and enjoyed sewing, baking, reading and playing cards with her children and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Monica's Catholic Church in East Peoria for over 40 years. Cremation has been accorded. There will be a memorial service at a later date at St. Monica's and service times will be posted. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria is assisting the family with arrangements.
