Obituary WASHINGTON-Frances L. "Nan" Abbott Brooke, 86, of Washington, IL, died at 10:33 am Friday, June 18, 2010 at the Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka, IL. Born on October 29, 1923 in Lexington, TN to Joe and Jesse Mae Olive Parker, she married Thomas Bufford Abbott on May 22, 1939 in Dresdon, TN. He died on June 8, 1977. She later married Vernon Brooke on August 22, 1986 in Peoria, IL. He died on April 17, 1988. Surviving are 1 son, Tom (Linda) Abbott of Washington, IL; 1 step-daughter, Diane (George) Wetterow of Peoria; 1 sister, Jo Helen Parker of Lexington, TN; 2 grandchildren, Kelly (Larry) Green of Washington and Phillip (Toni) Abbott of Palmyra, IL; 1 step-grandson, Glen Wetterow; 4 great-grandchildren, Erica Green Bartsch of Washington, Adam Green of Washington, Tiffany Abbott and Cassidy Abbott, both of Palmyra, IL; and 1 great great grandson, James "J" Daniel Bartsch. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, and 4 sisters. Nan was a true homemaker, babysitter, seamstress, gardener and an awesome cook. She was a member of Beverly Manor Missionary Baptist Church in Washington. The last four years of her life which she spent at the Apostolic Christian Home were full of much love and attention. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Tuesday, June 22 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. The Rev. Michael McCoskey will officiate. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 21 from 5-7 PM at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, June 23 at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Camden, Tennessee. Memorials may be made to her church.
