Obituary Nam Dang, 69, of Germantown Hills, passed away at 1:55am, Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at UnityPoint Health Methodist in Peoria. She was born January 1, 1945 in Vinh Long, Vietnam to Dang van Dau and Nguyen Thi Loi. She will be dearly missed by her son, Peter (Yen) Tran of Germantown Hills; granddaughter, Amanda Tran of Germantown Hills; brother, Van Tu Dang and all of their family in Vietnam; niece and grandniece, Thao and Lan, both of Peoria. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Thi Giau Dang. Nam was of the Buddhist faith and she devoted all of her life to the care of her family, and especially loved to cook for them. She was the strength of her family, guiding their lives with common sense, kindness, dignity, and grace. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 4:00pm-8:00pm at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. Funeral ceremonies will be from 7:30am-8:00am, Monday, September 8, 2014 at the funeral home. Final rites will take place at the Meadow Valley Center in Washington, and cremation will then be accorded following ceremonies. Memorial contribution may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital-Midwest Affiliate or to Quan Am Temple, 1509 9th St., East Moline, IL 61244.
