Montie L. Decker, 86, of Peoria, formerly of Eureka and Washington, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

He was born in Annapolis, IL on November 3, 1938 to the late Lonnie D. and Dortha Lou (Boyles) Decker.  He married Martha A. Elliott in Casey, IL on February 25, 1961.  She preceded him in death on July 1, 2015.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Randall.

Surviving are four children, Tim (Patricia) Decker, Dan (Lynn) Decker, Caroline Moore, Linda McGhee; four grandchildren, Taylor Decker, Elijah (Christine) McGhee, Amanda Moore, Brady Moore; three step-grandchildren, Christopher Lee, Annie Patrick, Justin Barton; and his sister, Reba McCarty.

Montie was a United States Army Veteran.  He worked at Caterpillar Inc. as a salvage machinist for 32 years, retiring on June 1, 1996.

He enjoyed the outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends.  He will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be from 10am to Noon on Saturday, February 8th at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington followed by a funeral service at Noon.  Per his wishes, cremation will be accorded after the services.
