Obituary EAST PEORIAa"Mildred L. "Millie" Blankenship, age 94 and formerly of East Peoria, passed away at Apostolic Christian Restmor in Morton on Sunday, June 8 2008 at 10:15 AM. She was born on August 5, 1913 to William H. and Nellie White Sawyer. She married James R. "Bob" Blankenship of East Peoria on October 21, 1933. He died November 27, 1977. She was a long time member of the East Peoria Women's Club, East Peoria First United Methodist Church and she did volunteer work for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program for many years. She is survived by a daughter, Janet Koch of East Peoria, and a son, Stephen (Joyce) Blankenship of Washington, IL. She is also survived by five grandsons, Dan (Sue) Koch of Lake in the Hills, IL and Dave Koch of East Peoria, Steve (Deron) Blankenship, Jr. of Breman, GA, Chris (Julia) Blankenship and Eric (Amy) Blankenship, both of Washington. Also surviving are 10 great grandchildren, 5 step-great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and 3 step great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Koch and her son-in-law, James L. Koch, and two sisters, Verna Stiles and Edith Helge. Visitation will be Thursday, June 12 from 6-8 PM at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria. Services will be on Friday, June 13 at 11:00 AM at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria with Pastor Bob Debolt of Crossroads United Methodist Church in Washington officiating.
