Obituary Washington- Michael R. Smith, 36, of Washington, died at 4:01 PM on December 30, 2008 in Macon County, IL. He was born October 3, 1972 in Peoria to Roger K. and Janice M. (Reed) Smith. He married Angela K. Langeberg on November 11, 1995 in Peoria. She Survives. He was a great father to his children and leaves his son Connor Michael and daughter Lauren Rachel Smith. Michael is also survived by his parents Roger and Janice smith of East Peoria; 1 sister Jaime (James) Welch of New York, NY; paternal grandmother Myrtle Smith of Spring Bay; maternal grandfather Herman Dickey of Peoria; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Hershel Smith and his grandmother Margie Dickey. Michael was a 1990 graduate of Metamora Township High School, later earning his bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bradley University in 1995 and his MBA from Regis University in Colorado. He was the Vice President of Sales at Morton Metal Craft, was an avid duck hunter, and attended Great Oaks Community Church in Germantown Hills. Services for Michael will be held at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 3, 2009. Pastor Bill White will officiate. Burial will follow at Spring Bay Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12-2 PM prior to the services, also at the funeral home. Memorials in Michael's name may be made to his Children's Education Fund c/o CEFCU.
