Michael A. Fitzanko, 67, of Washington, IL died at 12:20 am Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at his home. Born on May 12, 1954 in Pekin, IL to John and Virginia Gambrel Fitzanko, he married Rubigale Christy on October 27, 1982 in Jacksonville, IL. Surviving are his loving wife, Rubigale, and 3 children, James (Wendy) Fitzanko of Dixon, IL, and Elizabeth (Craig) Cowan and Jonathan Fitzanko, both of Washington, IL, 1 sister, Becky Davis and 1 brother, Patrick Daniel Fitzanko, both of Pekin, IL, and 3 grandchildren, Derek, Aaron, and Carter whom he adored. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, and 2 sisters. Mike worked as a machine operator at Caterpillar Tractor Co. for 33 years, retiring in 2012. He and Rubigale attended Faith Church in Washington. There will be no services and cremation rites will be accorded. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to his church, the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
