Mike was extremely intelligent and was promoted to superintendent at Pekin Energy Co., retiring in 2005. He then worked at Midwest Grain Products in Pekin and the Ag Lab in Peoria for a brief time.
He loved Disney World, his horses and cats, diet Pepsi, sci-fi shows, listening to Coast to Coast AM and old-time radio programs and electronic gadgets, but most of all, he loved his family.
