Obituary EAST PEORIAa"Melvin L. Krendick, Sr., 87, of East Peoria died at 3:52 AM on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at Farmington Country Manor in Farmington, IL. Born on Sept 18, 1921 in Barberton, OH to Stephen and Lily Walker Krendick, he married Dorothy L. Lovins on Dec 22, 1944 in Bethesda, MD, and were married for 64 years. She survives. Also surviving are 4 children, Steve (Judy) Krendick of Scottsdale, AZ, Mel (Linda) Krendick, Jr. of Morton, IL, Jackie (Tim) Foster of Trivoli, IL, and Pat (Marc) Walker of Chandler, AZ; 13 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, and 3 brothers. Melvin was a US Marine Corps veteran, serving during World War II. He was the Corporate Traffic Manager for PA Bergners, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Illinois Masonic Lodge #263, the Mohammed Shrine and the Scottish Rite. He was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #1002, and was a life member of the VFW in East Peoria. Melvin had also been a member of Grace and Peace Lutheran Church in Peoria. Melvin was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, March 27, 2009 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in East Peoria. The Rev. O. Wayne Shelksohn will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home, where Masonic Rites will be held at 1:45 PM.
