Melody Neubauer Harris, 59, of Peoria, IL passed away at 12:35 am Thursday, November 4, 2021 at her home. Melody was born on April 24, 1962 in Pontiac to the late Martin and Dorothy Grimes Neubauer, and she was baptized on April 23, 1967. Surviving are her stepmom, who raised her, Cathy Neubauer; daughter, Kimberly Harris; son, David Woodward; grandchildren, Kiasia, Lanaeya, Anthony Jr., Antonio, Kamyra, and Angelo; siblings, John Neubauer and Jennifer Lowery ; and her best friend of 47 years, Brenda. She worked as a CNA for 25 years before beginning her 14 year battle with cancer. Melody cherished spending time with family and was the best mom and grandma. There will be a private graveside service at Houder Cemetery in rural Pontiac. Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Illinois CancerCare Foundation.
