Obituary Melinda Ruth Hutchings, 60, of Washington passed away at 1:00am Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria. Melinda was born July 6, 1956 in Columbia, Mo to the Marvin L. and Lola Evens Hutchings, who both precede her in death. She is survived by her brother, Roger W. Hutchings of Washington, and close friends. Melinda worked at Monical's Pizza in Washington for many years. She always considered herself to be one of the fortunate people who enjoyed their work. She was a very avid reader, consuming everything from pulp romance novels to periodicals like "National Geographic" and "Archaeology". She belonged to the International Brotherhood of Magicians and kept up with their happenings. A memorial service for Melinda will be held at noon Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory, Washington. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the columbarium at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Pastor Jeff Browning will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
