Obituary PEKIN-Mary J. Vermillion, 66, of Pekin, IL, died at 1:15 pm Friday, February 19, 2010 at her home surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with scleroderma. Born on April 16, 1943 in Peoria, IL to Raymond and Grace Frances Maggio Capitani, she married Guy E. Lillie on February 13, 1960 in Peoria. He died in 1989. She then married Raymond S. Vermillion on July 11, 1992 in Peoria. He survives. Also surviving are 2 daughters, Denise (Jim) Deters of Germantown Hills, IL, and Kimberly (Jeff) Benton of Hanna City, IL, 1 stepdaughter, Danene (Wayne) Petty of Manchester, TN, 2 stepsons, Mike (Heidi) Vermillion of Pekin, IL, and David Vermillion, 3 grandchildren, Thomas Deters and Drew and Shelby Benton, 8 stepgrandchildren, and 1 sister, Antonia (Lou) Jones of Greensboro, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mary was an insurance agent for Comprehensive Insurance in Peoria prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Fondulac Women's Golf League and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. Services for Mary will be at 10 am Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Father Tim Nolan will officiate. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Monday at the funeral home.
