Obituary Mary Petry, 80, of Peoria, passed away at 2:47am Sunday, April 23, 2017 at UnityPoint Health- Methodist in Peoria. She was born April 3, 1937 in Chicago to Henry and Anna King McMahon. She married William Petry on December 26, 1959 in Chicago. He preceded her in death December 8, 2004. Surviving are three daughters, Laura (Doyle) Collins of Peoria, Lisa (Charlie) Shempf of Peoria, and Mary Beth (Eric) Christian of Washington; grandchildren, Christopher (Sarah), Matthew, Joseph, Brooke; Charlie, Holly; William and Kathleen; sister, Margie Wagner of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and siblings. Mary worked at Kmart in Peoria for 25 years. She was an avid Cubs fan and also enjoyed rooting for Notre Dame Football. Her family was most important to her, and she especially loved spending time with her grandkids. She will be most remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. A funeral Mass for Mary will be held at 10:00am Friday, April 28, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, with a prayer service at 7:30pm. Additional visitation will be one half hour prior to the Mass at the church. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Peoria.
