Obituary EAST PEORIA - Mary Elizabeth Hearne, 79, of East Peoria, died at 11:05 pm Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at her home. Born on August 28, 1929 in Granite City, IL to Robert D. and Mary L. Wilson Wagoner, she married Patrick Michael Hearne on July 3, 1953 in Maryville, IL. He survives. Also surviving are 4 children, Jane (Gene) Roehl of Troy, IL, Tim (Chris) Hearne of Washington, IL, Leta (Roger) Williams of Peoria, IL and Christie (Randy) Heinz of Bellevue, IL, 1 sister Ruby Wagoner of Glen Carbon, IL, and 6 grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Robert F. Wagoner. Mary graduated from Granite City High School and attended Summers Business College in East St. Louis, IL. She worked as a Stenographer/Secretary in the Purchasing Department at Swift Packing Co. in East St. Louis. She then worked as a Secretary at Milk Producers in Granite City. She later worked in food service at Kreskes in Denver, CO. Years later, she was the manager of the Bread 'N Butter Restaurant on Spring Bay Road in East Peoria for about 10 years, closing in 1992. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in East Peoria, where she was a member of the United Methodist Woman and helped furnish funeral dinners. She was also a member of the VFW Post #2078 Auxiliary in East Peoria. She had served as a leader of Camp Fire Girls. Funeral services will be at 10 am Monday, December 8, 2008 at First United Methodist Church in East Peoria. The Rev. Mary Arnold will officiate. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Sunday, December 7, 2008 at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria, with an additional visitation from 9:30-10 am Monday at the church.
