Obituary WASHINGTON- Mary Kathleen Hartman, 92, of Washington, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 10:55PM at her daughter's residence in Morton. Mary was born March 12, 1923 in Denver, IL to Lewellyn V. and Ethel M. Blan McCallister. She married William E. Hartman on October 11, 1945 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on November 3, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marileen "Mick" Empey. Surviving are her children, Robert (Ann) Hartman of Griffin, GA, Lawrence (Sandra) Hartman of Princeville, Maureen Grimes of Morton, and Daniel (Vicky) Hartman of Farmington; nine grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert (Nelda) McCallister of Washington; and several nieces and nephews. Mary worked at several businesses in the Washington and Peoria area as a saleswoman. As one of her last jobs, she was employed with Bob's True Value in Washington. She was a member of Sunnyland Christian Church and always stayed active with the Cub Scouts. She loved dogs and enjoyed her time flower gardening. Above all else, her family was most important to her. Memorial contributions may be made to OSF Saint Francis Children's Hospital in Peoria. A funeral service for Mary will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at 1:00PM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. There will be a visitation prior to the service, from 11:00AM-1:00PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in Morton.
