Obituary East Peoria- Mary K. DeVos, 68, of East Peoria, died at 1:38p.m., Thursday, November 14, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Hospital in Peoria. She was born on January 25, 1945 in Rushville, IL to Challis and Virginia Taylor Warrington. She married Dan DeVos on August 29, 1964 in Peoria, he survives. Also surviving are her three children, Danelle (Steve) Reeves, Todd DeVos, and Mike (Karey) DeVos, all of East Peoria; one sister, Sara Russell of Peoria; one brother, Larry (Judy) Warrington of Canton; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Ernie Russell . Mary worked as a Certified Nurses Aid and was an activity director at Morton Terrace for 20 years. She also worked at OSF St. Clair Home in Peoria. She was always willing to help and care for others. She was a Chicago Cubs fan and Los Angeles Dodgers fan, enjoyed bowling, fishing, and shopping at garage sales and thrift shops. A funeral service will be at 3p.m., Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Pastor John Bunch will officiate. Visitation will be from 1-3pm Sunday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
