Obituary

Obituary Mary E. Arndt, 71, of Washington, formerly of East Peoria, passed away at 2:10pm, Thursday, February 9, 2017 at Morningside of Washington. She was born November 28, 1945 in Peoria to Harold and Margaret Webb Roberts. She married Larry K. Arndt, Sr. on September 1, 1963 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on May 18, 2002. Surviving are her children, Larry K. (Julie) Arndt, Jr. of the Village of Lakewood and Kimberly (Mark) McMurray of Washington; grandchildren, Madison and Olivia Arndt; and Nicholas, Hannah, and Andrea McMurray; sister, Winnie (Ron) Wright of Pekin; brother, John (Karen) Roberts of West Peoria; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Roberts of Peoria Heights. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Gene Roberts. Mary had a wonderful sense of humor and was a joy to be around. She was a loving mom and sister, who absolutely lived for her grandkids. She was a lover of animals and adored her cat, MiMi. Mary was also a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. A funeral Mass for Mary will be held at 10:00am Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Washington. Father Steve Willard will officiate. Visitation will be from 5-7:00pm Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:15pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude-Midwest Affiliate or to St. Patrick Parish.
