Obituary Marvalee B. Cunningham, 82, of East Peoria, died at 2:23 AM on Sunday November 4, 2012 at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 12, 1930 in Sedalia, MO to Orvis P. and Blanche A. Bain Wilcox. She was united in marriage on December 17, 1945 to Gerald Cunningham in Kansa City, MO. They enjoyed 67 years of marriage together. He survives. Also surviving are their two daughters; Sherry (Richard Vosberg) Becker of Peoria and Susan (Gregory) Derry of Canton, three grandchildren; Cary (Karen) Becker of East Peoria, Kimberly (Mark) Watkins of Canton, Jennifer Derry of Columbia, MO, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. One brother, Orvis Wilcox III of Topeka, KA also survives. She was preceded in death by her parents and one great-grandson, Ryan Petefish. Marvalee was a very active woman. Early in life she worked as a secretary at Peoria Richwoods High Schoool. She later owned and operated Pauline's Dress Shop, a boutique in East Peoria. For several years following, she was a realtor for Hovind Realty and later a travel agent for World Wide Travel in Canton. She and her husband owned and operated several businesses together, including Wee-Ma-Tuk Country Club in Canton, IL and East Peoria Autobody. She was a member of Bethel Memorial United Church of Christ in Creve Ceour, and was active in the Peoria Woman's Golf League. Marvalee was also an active bridge player and was an extensive world traveler. She loved her family and had a zest for life. She will be missed by all her family and friends. There will be a memorial service for Marvalee on Wednesday November 7, 2012 at 5:30 PM at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in East Peoria. Pastor Paul Isom will officiate.
