Obituary WASHINGTON- Martha J. Prewett, 80, of Washington passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 12:37P.M. at her daughter's home, where she lived. Martha was born August 27, 1934 in Arlington, MO to Ellis and Mattie Brookshire Whitaker. She married Ronald Prewett on March 30, 1952 in Rolla, MO. He preceded her in death on April 14, 1998 in Washington. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 10 brothers and sisters. Surviving are her daughters, Rhonda (Michael) Welk of Peoria and Rena (Angie) Prewett of Washington; and three grandchildren, Aimee (Courtney) Anderson of Coppell, TX, Melissa Miller of Aurora, and Lindsay (Danny) Pierson of Hanna City. Martha worked at Kramer's Restaurant in Peoria for a few years before dedicating her life to her family as a homemaker. She was a member of Highview Church of God in Washington, where she taught Sunday School for over 20 years. She was also a member of Pekin First Church of God. Martha was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She could often be found rooting on her favorite team at Busch Stadium. Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntington's Disease Society of America or to the Ronnie Prewett Memorial Scholarship Foundation at Newberg High School in Missouri. A service for Martha will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 10:00A.M. at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Pastor Johnny Creasong will officiate. There will be a visitation on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 5:00PM- 7:00PM at the funeral home and a half hour prior to the services on Saturday. Interment will be a Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria.
