Obituary Martha J. Baer, 96, of Washington, IL died at 9:55 AM Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at Washington Christian Village in Washington. Born on September 14, 1915 in Washington, IL to Ora and Emma L. Miller Clemons, she married Robert Glover Baer Sr. on February 20, 1939 in Davenport, IA. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1976. She was also preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are 5 children, Sally (Gerald) Ziegler of Hollister, CA, Barbara (Carl) Miller of El Paso, IL, Robert G. (Carol) Baer Jr. of Chillicothe, IL, Ted (Donna) Baer of Randolph, KS, and Jinx (Dan) Wissel of Washington, IL; 12 grandchildren, Eddy (Lora) Miller, Angela (Bruce) Anderson, Robert (Susan) Ziegler, Elizabeth (Peter) Eichelberger, Patricia (David) Dowhan, Aaron Baer, Katie (Keith) Burwell, Margaret Baer, Betsy (Matt) Rambke, Robert M. Baer, Emily Perkins, and Sam Perkins; and 18 great-grandchildren. Martha was the co-owner of Knit & Stitch in Washington. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington and the Order of Eastern Star. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Monday, February 6, 2012 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington. Pastor John Bates will officiate. Visitation will be from 2-5 PM Sunday, February 5, 2012 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington.
