Mark
Yakle
Jan 16, 1980 — Apr 3, 2024
Mark A. Yakle, 44, of Washington, passed away on Wednesday, April 3, 2024.
He was born on January 16, 1980, in Peoria, to Maurice William and Patricia "Ann" (Rhoads) Yakle, who preceded him in death.
He leaves behind his siblings, Greg (Ann) Yakle, Tammi (Dan) Hagan, Stacy (James) Campbell, and Brad (Malia) Yakle, along with his beloved nieces, nephews, and their families.
Mark was an ardent Notre Dame super-fan, a passion evident in the collection of jerseys and hats that filled his wardrobe. He treasured the times he spent attending Notre Dame football games with his father, brothers, and friends. When baseball season came around, his loyalty shifted to the St. Louis Cardinals, attending games whenever possible and otherwise following the team fervently on TV. Mark found solace in the worlds of James Patterson and John Grisham novels during the off- season or whenever he couldn't enjoy a round of frisbee golf. Family and friends were Mark's treasure, with holidays holding a special place in his heart. A unique Christmas tradition saw Mark joining Santa on his rounds, sometimes donning a Ralphie bunny costume. Professionally, Mark dedicated many years to Lindy's Downtown Market as a Produce Manager before taking on a role as a team lead at Rivian in recent years.
Mark's kind heart, steadfast work ethic, and deep faith were the pillars of his life. He lived with gratitude, emulating Christ's love through his acts of kindness. Mark's radiant smile and spirit brightened the lives of all who knew him, leaving a world dimmed by his absence.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, April 8, 2024, at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. A eulogy and service celebrating his life is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, at the same location. Mark will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
