Obituary
Mark L. Skinner, 64, of East Peoria, passed away at 11:05am, Thursday, July 11, 2013 at his home.
He was born November 14, 1948 in Elgin to Kenneth A. and Ellen E. Lindgren Skinner. He married Mary Jan Hardy January 8, 1977 in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are a daughter, Amanda Kay Skinner, East Peoria; a son Jason Skinner, Mississippi; granddaughter, Zoey Skinner; sisters, Karen Poquette, Plainfield and Kaye Skinner, Phoenix, AZ; brother-in-law, John (Jan) Hardy, Wee-Ma-Tuk Hills; sister-in-law, Susan Ann (Jerry) Sjoberg, Fontana, WI; many special nieces and nephews; and his dog, Charlie, and his cats.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, George Skinner.
Mark served with the US Army during the Vietnam War and studied computers at Control Data. He worked for EMC Corporation as a Senior Customer Engineer. He was a member of the Peoria Tennis Association for many years. He enjoyed music, especially writing, singing and performing with his guitar. He was also an avid fisherman.
Visitation for Mark will be from 5:00pm-7:00pm, Monday, July 15, 2013 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory, East Peoria. A brief tribute will be held immediately following the visitation at the funeral home. Interment will be at Fondulac Cemetery, East Peoria.
