Obituary EAST PEORIA-Mark W. Gronewold, 63, of East Peoria, IL died at 4:00 pm Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Born on January 30, 1948 in Bowen, IL to Wilke C. and Fannie B. Saathoff Gronewold, he married Vicky Eggman on December 26, 1971 in Golden, IL. She survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Michael J. of Washington, IL and Matthew W. of East Peoria, IL; 1 daughter, Regina M. Gronewold of East Peoria, IL; 2 grandchildren, Tyler and Taylor Hitesman; 2 Brothers, Richard (Lola) Gronewold of Golden, IL and David (Susan) Gronewold of Clayton, IL; 1 sister, Jolene Gonzalez of Fayetteville, GA; his mother, Fannie Gronewold of Golden, IL, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mark was preceded in death by his father. He was a US Army veteran from 1/4/1968-12/14/1969, serving in Vietnam. Mark worked for Caterpillar Tractor Co. as a machinist in building KK and HH for 35 years, retiring in 2001. He was also a committee member for Boy Scouts Troop 163 in Washington, IL for 18 years. Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Sunday, February 13, 2011 at Deiters Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington, IL, with a time of remembrance at 4pm. Funeral services will be at 2 pm Monday, February 14, 2011 at Hunter Funeral Home in Golden, IL. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home in Golden, IL.
