Obituary WASHINGTON- Marjorie M. Pierce, 95, of Washington, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at 8:39 A.M. at UnityPoint Health Proctor in Peoria. Marjorie was born on July 19, 1921 in Peoria to Elmer and Jennie Reinholtz Miller. She married William "Bill" H. Pierce on October 9, 1943 in Washington. He preceded her in death on February 13, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Rachel Edwards. She is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Jerry) Brown of Simpson, IL; granddaughter, Jaime (Nick) Volk of Washington, IL; grandchildren, Jason (Nichole) Brown of Washington and Nichol Brown of Eureka as well as six great-grandchildren, Alex & Anna Volk, Tyler & Colton Brown, Skyllar Brown and Lyric Trapp. Marjorie worked as a devoted homemaker and always enjoyed her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington. Throughout her life, she always enjoyed both flower and vegetable gardening and playing in a bowling league with good friends. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington Supportive Living. There will be a funeral service for Marjorie on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 1:30 P.M. at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Reverend Richard Hanson will officiate. There will be a visitation an hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton.
