Mariolu Whitaker, 82, of Washington, IL and formerly of Macomb, IL, died at 9:35 am Friday, June 18, 2021 at Unity Point Methodist in Peoria, IL. She was born on May 14, 1939 in Tennessee, IL to Chester and Elinor Loop Brown. She was a loving and devoted mother to her 3 surviving daughters; Mischelle Provine of Washington, IL, Melanie (Troy) Strode of Knoxville, IL, and Janelle Provine of Washington, IL, 3 grandchildren; Devon Pendergast, Kaleigh Bowen, and Dakota Strode, 2 great-grandchildren; Aiden and Reilly Pendergast and brother Jeri Brown and several siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Brown and Elinor Ziesler, 2 sisters; Analie Wright and Carolann Salazar, 1 brother; Tommy Brown, and other siblings. Mariolu was a cashier at Walmart in Macomb for several years and attended Willow Hill United Methodist Church in Germantown Hills, IL. She loved to read and do crossword puzzles, and enjoyed dressing up, including her jewelry, make-up, and shoes. Cremation rites will be accorded and a private graveside service will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington. Pastor Nicole Cox will officiate.
