Obituary
Marella Kay Kaeb, 56, of Peoria, IL, died at 8:54 pm Sunday, May 27, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria after a brave battle with cancer.
Born on June 15, 1955 in Peoria, IL to Rev. R.L. and Fern E. Collins Goode, she married Ronald E. Kaeb on May 25, 1996 in Peoria, IL. He survives.
Also surviving are 1 daughter, Mikeal Harsh of Peoria, IL, 4 stepchildren, Kathy (John) Bode of Pekin, IL, Greg (Patti) Kaeb of Groveland, IL, Christy (Mike) Trone of Springfield, IL, and Kevin (Brenda) Kaeb of Green Valley, IL, 3 siblings, Beverly (Rev. Delbert) Wells of Goodyear, AZ, Rev. Terry (Mary Ann) Goode of East Peoria, IL, and Sharon (David) Standridge of Albuquerque, NM, 6 grandchildren, and numerous others who considered her their "mom".
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Debra Knight, and 1 infant sister, Karen.
Marella worked as the Office Manager for Associates of Sterling Podiatry for more than 10 years. She also worked as the Secretary at the Christian Assembly Church for 6 years and for the Southern Baptist Association for 3 years. She also enjoyed planning and coordinating weddings for over 17 years during her first marriage to Denis Harsh.
She was a member of Riverside Community Church in Peoria, and a former member of Christian Assembly Church in Peoria where she was leader of Women's Ministry for many years.
Marella was a giving, generous, and caring person. She was loved by everyone who met her and brought laughter and joy to many. Her first love was her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Marella enjoyed ministering, witnessing, counseling and praying for others. She was a loving wife and mother and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Marella's life will be at 10 am Saturday, June 2, 2012 at Riverside Community Church in Peoria. Rev. John King will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Friday, June 1, 2012 at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington. Additional visitation will be from 9-10 am Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Peoria.
