Obituary

Lynda Lou Wright, 85, of Metamora, passed away at 9:12pm Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at her home.

Lynda was born February 24, 1941 in Peoria to the late Harold and Betty Hammer Lefler. She married Larry Wright on April 3, 1970 in Westervelt, IL.

Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Larry; their children, James (Kathryn) Ogborn of Williamsburg, VA, Ron (Trudy) Wright of East Peoria, Kevin (Lori) Ogborn of Metamora, Phyllis Jacobs of Peoria, Philip Ogborn of Chillicothe, Kenny (Mindy) Radley of Mossville, Laura (Brian) Moats of Chandlerville; daughter-in-law, Lori Radley; brother, Harold “Kip” Lefler of Peoria; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Scott Radley and two great-grandchildren.

Lynda was a longtime, active member of St. Patrick Church in Washington, singing in the choir and participating in Bible studies over the years. She loved to crochet and was very talented in her craft. She sold original patterns to crochet magazines and used her gift to donate clothing to many charities and premature babies staying in local hospitals. Best of all, she gave special afghans to her family, which they cherish. Lynda was part owner and secretary of Washington Termite & Pest Control, as well as a craft store on the square. She was an avid runner for many years, finishing 5th in the Elvis 5K in Memphis, which was a great accomplishment. She was also an exceptional country and ballroom dancer. Lynda loved her family more than anything and will be greatly missed.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am Saturday, October 17, 2026 at St. Patrick Church in Washington. Fr. Matt Deptula will officiate. Viewing will be from 9:00am-10:30am, Saturday at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington, with a rosary immediately following. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memory Gardens in rural Morton.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mary, Mother of God Parish-St. Patrick Church.
