Obituary
WASHINGTON - Luella C. Joos, 92, of Washington, IL died at 6:45 am Sunday, November 18, 2007 at Apostolic Christian Home in Eureka. Born on October 5, 1915 in Goodfield, IL to William and Amollia "Molly" Roth Knapp, she married Frederick G. Joos Sr. on April 24, 1937 in Peoria. He died on January 13, 1990. Surviving are 2 sons, Frederick (Shirla) Joos Jr. and Melvin (Pat) Joos, both of Washington, IL, Myrna York of Wilmington, DE and Maralee Joos (Jon Anderson) of Gainesville, FL, 1 sister, Clementine Joos of Deer Creek, 2 brothers, Chris (Emma) Knapp and William (Eilene) Knapp, both of Morton, IL, 11 grandchildren, 4 step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 5 step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, 1 sister, and a special friend, Bob Tesch. Luella was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington, where she belonged to the Alter Society. She also was active in the Washington Home Extension for over 45 years. She and her husband enjoyed square dancing for many years, and participated in the Washington Dance of the Month Club. Luella also enjoyed golfing, bowling, riding her bicycle, and her extensive travels throughout the world. A highlight in 2000, Luella took her children and their spouses on a five country European tour. Services will be at 11 am Saturday, November 24, 2007 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Washington. Pastor Alice Gwin will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Friday, November 23, 2007 at Deiters Funeral Home in Washington, with additional visitation from 10-11 am Saturday at the church. Burial will be at Glendale Cemetery in Washington.
