Obituary Ludie Mae Bradford, 88, of Washington, IL died at 10:35 AM Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Pekin Manor in Pekin, IL. Born on July 2, 1923 in Collins, AR to Dr. Robert Newton and Ludie Tindell Smith, she married GW Bradford Sr. on May 18, 1948 in Arkansas. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1986. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers including her twin, 3 sisters, and 2 great-grandchildren. She was loved and will be missed by her son, GW (Jennifer) Bradford Jr. of Washington, IL; daughter, Sharron (Edward) Houghn of Princeville, IL; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. Ludie Mae was an ICU nurse at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria for 30 years and then served as a home health care nurse for many years after retiring from the hospital. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. Ludie Mae loved everyone that she met and she showed her love in many ways including opening her home to family and friends in times of need. Ludie's family will have a reception in celebration of her life on Sunday, January 29, 2012 and will receive family and friends from 3-6 pm at Meadow Valley Center at Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington.
