Obituary Lucy Lutz Strode, 61, of Washington passed away on Friday, May 1, 2015 at 5:15P.M. at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was born on January 11, 1954 in Streator to Edward and Rosemary DePaul Lutz. She married Carl Strode on December 31, 1990 in Wenona. He preceded her in death on February 14, 2011 in Washington. Lucy is survived by her parents; her son, Eric (fianc Lauren Hasten) Joop of Washington; stepdaughter, Trisha (Leon) Edwards of Germantown Hills; siblings, Tom (Rose) Lutz of Wenona, Nancy (Terry) Keith of Minonk, Eddie (Laura) Lutz of Wenona; and four grandchildren, L.J., Claire, Bennett, Harlan. She was a 1972 graduate of Wenona High School. She then attended Beauty School in Streator. She worked as a beautician at Heritage Manor in Peru and also in Florida at Parkway Health and Rehabilitation Center. Most recently, Lucy worked at the Goodwill in Washington. Lucy loved to be outdoors, whether it be camping, gardening, or being on the beach. Taking trips with her family to Lake Wildwood was one of her favorite pastimes. There will be no services. Cremation rites have been accorded. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.
