Obituary Lucille L. Guilfoyle, 99, of East Peoria, IL died at 1:35 pm Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at Snyder Village in Metamora, IL. Born on December 18, 1916 in Morrisonville, IL, to John Otto and Lora Blanche Myers Klingler, she married Howard Anthony Guilfoyle on October 31, 1937 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1991. Surviving are her 4 children; Joan (Robert) Henry of Creve Coeur, IL, John (Pat) Guilfoyle and Karen (the late, Richard) Wheeler both of East Peoria, and Carol (Earl) Lee of Washington, IL, 12 grandchildren; Ed Henry, Mary Ann Henry, Frank Henry, Sheri (Eric) Popken, Rich (Kelly) Wheeler, David Wheeler, Christine (Tom) Poston, Laurie Guilfoyle, Kim (Rich) Stroud, Jenny Guilfoyle, Joe Lee and Dan (Tricia) Lee, 19 Great-Grandchildren; P.J., Lucas, Leslie, Kyle, Maggie, Katie, Bobby, Bradley, Brayden, Ashleigh, Ava, Danny, Sam, Mallory, Macey, Matthew, Michael, Brooke and Jaden, and 2 dear nieces, Judy (David) Arroyo and Theresa Unser, both of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary Unser, son-in-law Rich Wheeler, and granddaughter, Jeannie (Scott) Church. Lucille worked as a Secretary at Dr. Howard Lowy's office for 12 years. She was a former member of Sacre Coeur Church in Creve Coeur and its Altar and Rosary Society and was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria and its Ladies Guild. Lucille was a former volunteer for St. Jude, serving as Creve Coeur Chairman, and later volunteered at OSF St. Francis Medical Center for 10 years. Upon retirement, Howard and Lucille enjoyed traveling to all 50 states and wintering in Orlando, Florida. A funeral mass for Lucille will be at 12 noon, Monday, November 7, 2016 at St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria. Visitation will be from 10-12 on Monday at the church.
